Common liquid silicone rubber curing method

1. Liquid silicone rubber must be cured into solid elastic silicone rubber to be used. The process from liquid to solid of a specified shape can be called the molding of liquid silicone rubber. Liquid silicone rubber according to its function can be divided into bonding liquid silicone rubber, potting liquid silicone rubber, mold liquid silicone rubber and silicone rubber products liquid silicone rubber.

2. Silicone bonding does not require a fixed shape. As long as the silicone is coated on the bonding surface with a dispensing machine or manually, the bonding function can be achieved after curing. If the viscosity of liquid silicone rubber is low, it can defoam itself and can be cured in the product. If it does not automatically debubble, it is necessary to vacuum, remove bubbles and then potting. Some liquid silicone rubbers cure only when heated at high temperatures.

3. The mold is made of liquid silicone rubber, which is divided into brush mold and filling mold. The operation of the filling mold is similar to that of the silicone filling mold. Just make a simple mold and pour silicone into it. The brush die is to brush the liquid silicone rubber on the master die after defoaming and wait for it to cure.

4. The liquid silicone rubber molding process of silicone products is relatively complex, mainly because silicone products generally require physical properties, so the liquid silicone rubber used is of high viscosity and difficult to process and form. Most products will choose to add molded liquid silicone rubber, which requires heating for curing. Before the silicone product is formed, the vacuum liquid silicone rubber is poured into the mold and then heated and cured. For high-viscosity liquid silicone rubber, it is necessary to use an Injection molding machine.

What is the cause of semi-curing of liquid SILICONE?

1. The addition of curing agent is not enough, resulting in the completion of curing agent reaction, and some silica gel is not catalyzed;

2. The humidity in the air is not enough, you can consider putting a humidifier in the room or adding a little water drop in silicone;

3. Because the mixing is not in place, some parts are not mixed with the catalyst.
